I work with Christian Impact, Athletes in Action, graduate students, faculty and administrators.
During college, I came to know Christ personally and my life was radically changed by Him. I decided that I wanted to spend my life sharing with students, faculty and administrators about the forgiveness, freedom, joy, hope, love and life that is in Christ.
I am currently working on my Masters of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, but my first two years of graduate work was in pastoral studies. I enjoy talking with students and faculty about relational issues, emotional development issues, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and other addictions.
Spiritual formation is a passion of mine. I enjoy listening to peoples’ stories, journeying with them and helping them to see the movement of God in their lives. I like to teach about making space for God through silence, solitude, Sabbath-keeping, meditation on Scripture, listening prayer, fasting, daily examine, and other spiritual disciplines.
My husband of twenty-five years, also a Harvard chaplain, and I are certified instructors in Interpersonal Communication Programs. We teach talking, listening and conflict resolution skills. We help students and faculty in the areas of marriage, dating relationships, roommate and parent issues.
Leading small groups is one of my favorite ways to develop women leaders. We not only study the Bible, but we live out the seventy plus “one-anothers” of scripture (love one another, speak truth to one another, pray for one another, encourage one another, etc.). One group focuses on sororities, one on athletes and two are a mixture of women leaders from all different groups on campus.
Speaking on the topics of leadership, communication and emotional and spiritual development in sororities, athletic teams and other groups is one of my favorite things I do as a chaplain. My husband and I like to give talks together in the areas of conflict resolution, choosing a mate, and building an intimate marriage.
My favorite sports are waterskiing and basketball, and my favorite hobbies are singing, playing guitar and writings songs.
Meeting our family has been a highlight of many students’ interaction with us. We live just across the street from Harvard Law School and have four children from 10-18 years of age. We would love for you to come over for dinner and meet our family.
