I am a full-time undergraduate staff worker with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, a campus ministry that seeks to see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed and world changers developed. As a recent graduate of Harvard College (East Asian Studies, '06), I have decided to stay on campus to serve the spiritual needs of students. It is particularly exciting to be a part of helping students process questions of truth, purpose and belonging at an institution such as Harvard, where there can be so much despair in the midst of unparalleled ambition.

It wasn't until my freshman year on campus that I discovered who Jesus really was and made a commitment to follow him at any cost. Before then, I had assumed he was an outdated and irrelevant figure from the past. What I've realized since is that he is alive and well, and has brought incredible transformation in my life and in the lives of many students. I've also come to discover that he calls us to love and serve each other, no matter our backgrounds, personalities or beliefs. Consequently, I'm particularly interested in helping the faith communities with which I work to be welcoming to people of all types and spiritual traditions. I love having a dialogue with people who adhere to other faiths or who are not sure what they believe.

In InterVarsity's communities, we seek to engage in honest and open dialogue about what it looks like to follow Jesus at Harvard and out in the world beyond. As a result of these conversations, we've tried to live out Christ's call for us as best we can through inner transformation as well as outer transformation. On the inside, we ask God to shape our character to be more like his; on the outside, we ask God to give us the compassion to love our neighbors. On any given week, there are dozens of opportunities to encounter God in our small and big groups; in nearly all of these smaller communities, we have friends who would not consider themselves Christian, but who are attracted to a genuine pursuit of the truth and of God. We invite you to check out InterVarsity’s communities, to taste and see what Jesus might have in store for you!
