Orthodox Christian Fellowship
Orthodox Christian Fellowship is a dynamic community of students from many different backgrounds who share a common desire to learn more about the ancient New Testament Church. This desire is fulfilled through a variety of events including discussions, bible studies, special symposia, retreats, and workshops In addition, fellowship events foster community and common understanding. Members learn from one another and from the rich 2,000-year-old tradition of Orthodox Christianity. Through weekly discussion groups, Orthodox theology and history as well as the writings of the saints and church fathers and mothers are analyzed. Through modern applications of the same principles, OCF seeks to facilitate a better apprehension of issues of contemporary interest. Other events include workshops on Byzantine and Ethiopian iconography, a conference on women in early Christianity and Orthodoxy, and lessons in Byzantine chant. Festive gatherings include a Thanksgiving Dinner, a Lenten Retreat with music by Peter Jon Gilquest, Paschal celebrations complete with egg dying. In addition, interfaith socials and inter-religious dialogue dinners are held throughout the year. Regardless of background or creed, all are cordially and enthusiastically welcome.
